“Been working so hard, I’m punching my card, eight hours, for what? I’ve got this feeling, that time’s just holding me down, I’ll hit the ceiling or else I’ll tear up this town! So now I gotta cut loose!”

Know the feeling?

Based on the hit 1984 film ‘Footloose’, this joyful musical explores themes of youth, forgiveness and, above all, the right to dance!

Ren, a boy from the big city of Chicago, has just moved to small town America. He finds himself at odds with most of the town, including Reverend Shaw, who has convinced the town to outlaw dancing. With the help of his two new friends, Ariel and Willard, Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance, and in the process helps the town to heal from a tragedy that affected them all.

This is a story which portrays the timeless fight between innocent pleasure and rigid morality… and the struggle to get a whole town on its feet!

Footloose the Musical jumps with spirit, dazzling dance numbers and an electrifying musical score. The talented students you will see on stage have been very busy rehearsing this show since February.

That’s quite a number of Saturdays, a host of Thursday rehearsals, a whole heap of hard work and a lot of laughter. Not many stage schools would attempt to bring such a range of ages together – we have pupils from age 7 to 18 – but we know that is an essential part of the magic. This young talent is supporting each other as well as having a lot of fun. And that’s the bit we wish we could bottle!
